Rutledge Beacham was perhaps one of the most well-known and well-respected commercial real estate industry executives in the Metro Atlanta area. His impact was felt far beyond the borders of Atlanta and our state. In 1978, Beacham joined Carter and Associates. His optimistic attitude helped him become a trusted property manager and familiar face at the properties for which he was responsible. During the 1990s, Beacham managed numerous responsibilities including leasing at East Jefferson Medical Plaza in New Orleans, developing the Quality Assurance Program for property and facility management and assisting various training programs. He was also involved in the Society of Property Administrators and the Brookhaven-Club-Area Neighborhood Association.
Rutledge was also an active BOMA member serving as BOMA-Atlanta president, and BOMA Southern Region president. He was also recognized with BOMA-Atlanta's highest honor, the Huey Award, and was awarded Life Membership in the Southern Region.
About the Fund
The Rutledge Beacham Education and Research Fund recognizes the professional contributions Rutledge made to the real estate industry and the personal impact he made on so many people. It carries on his legacy by ensuring much needed funding for scholarships and research.
“I am so thrilled that the BOMA Georgia Foundation named this education and research fund for Rutledge. He was extremely passionate about every associate continuing to learn all that they can about buildings, systems, customer service, reporting and all other aspects of our industry. He would be honored to know of this outreach effort and would be humbled and honored to have this fund set up in his name.” – Mark Dukes, BOMA Fellow, RPA, CCIM
