-
CRE AND THE BEE
To combat colony collapse disorder and the overall decline of the honeybee population, the foundation developed new CRE and the Bee seminar designed to educate commercial real estate owners and managers about the role they can play in protecting and rebuilding the population of these important pollinators in our ecosystem. The educational program explored ways beekeeping can be incorporated into commercial properties; operational considerations for property owners and managers; and how to position these efforts as a value-add for tenants and building visitors. And it featured a case study and tour of 725 Ponce, which incorporated honeybee hives into its property. The seminar also promoted a free research report produced by the BOMA Georgia Foundation under the same name, CRE and the Bee.

TEE UP FOR SUCCESS
The BOMA Georgia Foundation’s Tee-Up for Success program was a golf-themed educational program for commercial real estate professionals. It featured an exploration of how to apply leadership lessons learned from landscaping golf courses and curating social experiences. The event also included networking opportunities through a putting contest that raised funds to support the foundation’s mission of advancing real estate education and research.

BOMA SOUTHERN REGION CONFERENCE
The BOMA Georgia Foundation has hosted 4 BOMA Southern Region Conferences. The 2017 and 2024 conferences were held in Atlanta and the 2019 conference was held in Savannah. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when the 2021 regional conference was cancelled, the foundation stepped up to produce a virtual regional conference. By planning and hosting these regional conferences, the foundation has expanded educational opportunities for real estate professionals throughout the Southeastern United States.
